Title: Monopoly Money: How to Protect and Exploit Your Intellectual Property
Presented by: Dr Mark Lewney, The UK Intellectual Property Office, http://www.ipo.gov.uk/
Synopsis: Dr Lewney will explain what exactly the term Intellectual Property means and how to go about applying for a patent. Dr Lewney will also discuss how and why innovations need to be protected including what is excluded from patentability. There will also be a question and answer session at the end of the webinar for participants to ask Mark specific queries relating to patents and Intellectual Property.
Who Should Attend: This event will be of particular interest to anyone wanting to learn more about Intellectual Property and the patent process.
Bio: Dr Mark Lewney completed a PhD in acoustics at Cardiff University before becoming a Patent Examiner at the UK IPO in 2001. He has presented many public science shows and specialist IP talks and won the 2005 FameLab competition aimed at finding new science communicators.
