What are Knowledge Transfer Partnerships?
The partnership enables high-calibre graduates (known as Associates) to work on a project within a company for a period of one to three years. A knowledge-based partner (university, higher- or further-education institution or research organisation) acts as joint supervisor and advisor for the duration of the project.
What will industry gain from Knowledge Transfer Partnerships?
For industry this is an ideal and cost-effective opportunity to tap into a knowledge and skill base that will help solve an existing problem or develop new procedures, systems or products. This is especially useful to small and medium-sized companies, which may not have the knowledge, human resourcers or facilities to perform development work. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships can improve competitiveness and profitability through innovation and developing potential employees.
What can graduates gain from participating in Knowledge Transfer Partnerships?
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships will provide you with hands-on experience in industry. You will receive formal training aimed at developing both technical and managerial skills. On completion of the project, many associates remain in full-time employment with the company they are working for. The experience will help accelerate your career development.
