Collaboration Spaces
Members of the Integrated Products Manufacturing KTN are entitled to create and participate in online collaboration spaces, which can help enormously in the management of projects with multiple, perhaps geographically (or organizationally) scattered partners.
A collaboration space is like a central online filing cabinet, where project documents of all kinds can be stored. It has the added benefit of built-in document-management functions, enabling participants to organize and keep track of what may well be a diverse set of documents, existing at any given time in different versions, some of which may have multiple authors. Project proposals are a good example.
Collaboration spaces are not public. Access to each one is available only to that collaboration space's own members. Indeed, access to folders within a collaboration space can be further restricted to subgroups of the overall collaboration space's membership. This makes for a basic level of document security. Note, however, that the data stored in a collaboration space is not encrypted. Note too that this service is maintained for us through central KTN services and may have limited compatibility with browsers other than Microsoft Internet Explorer.
If you are interested in setting up a collaboration space for a project of your own that relates to integrated products, please contact Chris Stokes for further information about this service.
